The real Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany

The Oktoberfest celebrations held in Munich is a 16 day festival. It runs from late September until early October. It is hard to believe that over six million people attend every year. Everyone fills up with Schweinsbraten which is a roast pork, Reiberdatschi (potato pancakes), Sauerkraut or Blaukraut just to name a few of the delicacies served.

Oktoberfest celebrated its 100th birthday in 1910 and over 120,000 litres of beer were poured. Oktoberfest 2010 marks the 200th Anniversary of Oktoberfest and the barrels of beer will be tapped and flowing, there will be a lot of music and of course a lot of great looking women.

Kitchener Waterloo, Ontario is host to the largest North American Oktoberfest festival.
